Tanya is the Principal Investigator for the IDEAS project. She carries out implementation science to improve the effectiveness of programmes for maternal, newborn and child health, drawing on her training in demography and epidemiology. She lived and worked in sub-Saharan Africa for 15 years and is now based at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) in the UK.
Within the IDEAS project Tanya uses measurement to improve access to and coverage of life saving care. Her work covers three main streams: methodological work to improve measurement for maternal and newborn health, the design and application of actionable measurement strategies that incorporate household and facility surveys as well as routine data systems, and supporting the use of evidence for decision making at multiple levels.
