This seminar will draw on the findings from the PMNCH Knowledge Summary on Death Reviews and will describe the use of maternal death reviews for improving the delivery and quality of health care services for women, in order to prevent avoidable maternal mortality. Using case studies from around the world, the webinar will present successes and challenges in implementing maternal death reviews. We will also discuss recent developments regarding Maternal Death Surveillance and Response, and human-rights and accountability perspectives on death reviews.
